BSNL Achieves 1000 4G Sites Milestone Under Saturation Project: has announced that it has achieved the milestone of 1000 4G sites under the Saturation scheme.
Through saturation scheme, BSNL will provide high speed internet facility to villages. The state-run telecom company is deploying an indigenous 4G technology stack.

The network is being provided by C-DoT, with Radio Gear serving as Tejas Network and TCS system integrator. TCS will also maintain BSNL’s network.
The Union Government has announced the 4G Saturation Scheme to cover the uncovered villages (Total 24,680 Villages) at a cost of Rs 26,316 crore.
The objective was to provide high-speed connectivity to users living in backward areas. The government is funding the project through USOF.
BSNL is also upgrading around 1 lakh sites across India with 4G. Government wants BSNL to launch indigenous 4G and 5G.
To fast-track the 4G rollout and ensure accountability, India’s new telecom minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced that BSNL will have daily 4G rollout targets.
The Minister and Telecom Secretary will track the progress. The delay has caused a lot of pain for BSNL State-run telcos are rapidly losing customers.
Government is running promotional schemes to enhance the status of BSNL.
