Selection of Land: High and medium well drained fertile land that does not stand water is suitable for jackfruit.
Seedling production: Jackfruit seedlings are produced from jackfruit seeds. If you take out large, nutritious seeds from well-ripened jackfruit, apply ash and dry them in shade for 2-3 days, seedlings will grow in 20-25 days. Apart from this, saplings can also be made through Guti Kalam, Dal Kalam, Chokha Kalam, Chara Kalam.
Planting: Seedlings should be carefully picked up and planted in the original soil. Healthy, vigorous and disease-free seedlings or cuttings should be planted in the month of Madhya Jaishtha to Madhya Shravan. The distance between trees and lines should be kept at 12 meters.
Fertilizer: 35 kg of dung, 210 g of TSP fertilizer, 210 g of MOP fertilizer should be applied per hole at the time of planting. The amount of fertilizer per plant needs to be increased as it ages.
Irrigation: Moderate and timely irrigation is required for rapid growth of seedlings or cuttings.
Disease: Jackfruit disease is caused by a type of fungus. The attack of this disease causes brown spots on the fruit. Eventually the affected fruit falls off the tree.
Prevention: Fallen leaves and fruits should be burnt under the affected plants. The fungicide should be mixed with water at the rate of 0.05% and sprayed 3 times after 15 days after flowering. If the fruit falls, Dithen M45 or Ridomil MZ75 should be mixed with 2.5 grams per liter of water and sprayed.
